This category holds the materials needed to reconstitute and store lyophilised peptides in the lab. It covers solvent, measuring equipment, disinfection and storage.
BAC Water — bacteriostatic water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol — is the most widely used solvent for lyophilised peptides. The preservative inhibits bacterial growth, which keeps a vial usable for longer after puncturing than sterile water without an additive. Available in 3 ml and 10 ml.
Reconstitution needles with a U100 scale are available in 0.5 ml and 1 ml; you use them to measure the solvent and transfer it to the vial.
Alcohol wipes are needed to disinfect the rubber stopper before every puncture, including the first. The vial storage box protects reconstituted vials from light and from the humid environment of a refrigerator.
